How to Play Minicross
Fill in the missing letters to complete the word grid. Every row becomes a valid word when solved.
The Basics
1
Look at the Grid
Some cells already contain letters. Your job is to fill in the rest.
2
Type Letters
Select an empty cell and type the letter you think belongs there. Use the clues from pre-filled letters to figure out each word.
3
Complete All Rows
When every cell is filled correctly, all rows become valid five-letter words.
The Rules
Eight Words
The finished grid always contains 8 horizontal words.
Five Columns
Every word spans the full width of the board, so placement matters across the whole row.
Reposition Freely
If a block is in the wrong place, lift it back out and try another position.
Tips
- Start with rows where most letters are already given
- Look for uncommon letter pairs like QU, SH, or CK to narrow down a block
- Use the shape of a block as a clue, not just its letters
- If the tray feels messy, use the Mix button to reorder the remaining blocks
- When a row turns green, it is correct — use those confirmed letters to help with crossing rows
